Electrical Compliance – Who Signs What
- Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC)
Who issues/signs:
The competent electrician who carried out the electrical design, installation, inspection and testing.
NTP/Installer role:
Ensure the electrician provides the EIC, upload to Paperclip Flag 16, hand over to the customer.
- Part P / Building Regulations Notification
Who issues/signs:
The Competent Person Scheme (CPS) registered electrician/organisation who undertook the work (e.g. NICEIC, NAPIT).
NTP/Installer role:
Collect the Part P certificate, ensure it matches the job, upload to Paperclip Flag 16, hand over to the customer.
- DNO Notification (G98/G99/G100 as required)
Who issues/signs:
Submitted by the MCS Contractor (NTP). Sometimes completed by the electrician on behalf of the NTP.
NTP/Installer role:
Ensure correct ENA form is submitted, confirmation from the DNO is obtained, and record uploaded.
- MCS Certificate
Who issues/signs:
Automatically generated through the MCS Database by the NTP/Installer once all compliance documents (EIC, Part P, DNO) are uploaded.
NTP/Installer role:
Responsible for registering the job, generating the certificate, and providing it to the customer.
